Interlude

A belated congratulations to Al Tucher, whose BISMARCK RULES is among other stories in this year’s Best American Mystery Stories 2010. The book has been on sale for a couple weeks now. Go get a copy.

You all should head over to Media Virus Magazine and check out the editor’s pick, Cindy Rosmus’s THICK AS THIEVES.

Cindy always brings, as I said over there, the dark chocolatey goodness and THICK is no exception.

AJ Hayes says:

Noticed something. About every six or eight sentences a multi-faceted, hard-edged gem of a story occurs. Each one rich in unstated but immense detail. When you get to the overall story picture and it comes together like one of those three D paintings you stare at for a while and then you suddenly see the image that slams your head back and grips your heart hard.

And Richard Godwin says:

Every word counts, every nuance in this finely polished and powerful story, from the hard-edged dialogue to the ending. Cindy, this is as alive as a boxed snake and contains fine moments of black satire.

Go read it now.

Finally, this Friday will mark the last stories going up before the 600 To 700 Challenge gets underway next week. The names and talent that go with them are outstanding and I can’t thank all of you enough for your participation.
