A Note On The Artwork

Walter Conley came to me a couple of days ago and asked me if I would be interested in putting his artwork up at ATON.

Always interested in art that evokes feeling or setting for stories, I said, yeah, show me what you’ve got.

And Walter came through in spades.

The artwork above is Walter Conley’s, Copyright 2010.

Awesome, perfectly seedy and dark, reminds me of Elmore Leonard and Ellery Queen covers. Nicely done Walt.

That is amazing. And yes, very evocative. I'm glad he contacted you.

And now to find more of his work...

Excellent! I agree with Michael - seedy and dark and totally complementary to the site.

Very cool! Like they just said. Swept me back to all those book jackets and pulp mag covers I wish I still had. I don't use this word much but: Awesome! Now I'm on RSB's trail to want to see more land.

Digging it very much. One thought: after the 600 to 700 Challenge, you should have him illustrate a few stories.
