Guidelines For Submission
I want to see stories that are well-written, engaging and interesting crime and noir stories.
If you’re new to the site, take a look around and see what kind of stories have made the cut to get a feel for what I’m looking for.
The word count limit has been changed. I will now accept stories that are no more than 3,500 words.
On occasion, however, I will accept stories that will run longer than 3,500. This will not be the norm so, if you plan on writing a story with a count over the limit, check with me first.
I will accept, as always, unpublished and reprinted stories. If it is a reprint, please let me know where and when it was previously published.
Sex and violence are, as ever, acceptable but, as ever, don’t just toss it in for the sheer hell of it. Use it to help enhance the story.
Please indicate your submission with the words FICTION SUBMISSION in the subject line of your e-mail.
For the first time at A Twist Of Noir, there will be a non-fiction page, which will see opinion pieces, reviews and other various non-fictional pieces, written by people other than yours truly.
If you plan on writing a non-fiction piece, please indicate NON-FICTION SUBMISSION in the subject line of your e-mail.
Video submissions are still welcome, as long as they are in the fictional realm. If you have written and produced a video and you think it’s good enough to share with the audience at A Twist Of Noir, fire it on over. Be sure that it no longer than twenty minutes in length.
Please indicate your submission with the words VIDEO SUBMISSION in the subject line of your e-mail.
You may place your story or non-fiction piece in the body of the e-mail or attach it in a file. Please use DOC or RTF files, not DOCX; Zip files are also acceptable as long at they are Word compatible.
Please provide a short bio at the end of your submissions, letting everyone know a little something about yourself.
